Medium alkyd resin is a type of synthetic resin commonly used in the production of coatings, paints, and varnishes. Alkyd resins are a class of thermosetting polymers that are synthesized by the reaction of a polyhydric alcohol (such as glycerol or pentaerythritol) with a polybasic acid (such as phthalic anhydride or maleic anhydride) in the presence of drying oil or fatty acid.
